Asus eee pc 900 performance tweaks
After some time reading the forums at eeeuser.com the best tweaks for me were:
- Disabling all the eye candy, including the Luna theme for windows xp
- The Memory adjustments to give the system cache more memory actually increased the application start up times quite a lot. This tweaks is for the really slow 16gb flash drives, and not for my 1.8 inch hard disk
- Removing the page file
- Disabling history tracking for FF 3.0.2, which makes awesome bar quite useless so i think i'll be using FF 2.0

my new toy
just go a 30gb Asus eee pc, I'm checking out the default installation and running some tweaks (win xp) the eee-ubuntu looks like it has some missing features and requires work arounds so i'll be exploring that option later
